The Elsley Foundation's Living Pledge
The Foundation is deeply committed to advancing positive change through the transformative force of generosity, both during one's lifetime and beyond. Our purpose is to serve as a conduit, channelling resources toward causes that resonate with our founder's core values. Rooted in the teachings of Jesus, we actively explore and define the principles of Spirit-led generosity. We strongly advocate for transparency and accountability within the philanthropic landscape. Moreover, we strive to inspire responsible management of kingdom resources to create a lasting global impact. Aligning with our unwavering dedication to giving back, a substantial portion of the founder's surplus funds is earmarked for the betterment of society. In the interim, the founder will continue to contribute to regular giving, where guided by the Holy Spirit.
2025 Endowment
Starting in 2025, the Foundation will be endowed with an initial gift of £10k. The endowment will be vested over a period of at least 50 years, culminating in the latter years of the founder's life.
Depending on the fund's performance over 50 years, the initial endowment should reach between £17m (15% ARR) and £200m (20% ARR).
Benefactors
The focus of this Foundation is missional, social action, and the arts. At the time of writing, the benefactors are still being decided.
Investment Strategy
The endowment will be invested in mutual funds with a focus on technology. Based on 2024 Morningstar data, the chosen fund from 2025-2035 shall be JPMorgan's Technology Fund with a 10 year ARR of 23.10%, Fidelity's Global Technology Fund with a 10 year ARR of 22.81%, and Legal & General Global Technology Index with a 10 year ARR of 22.43%.
